Job summary

BJ's Restaurants, Inc. is seeking a Payroll Supervisor to oversee day-to-day payroll operations for more than 22,000 team members nationwide. This hands-on leadership role focuses on accuracy, compliance, and strong payroll controls.

You will coach the payroll team, coordinate tax filings, and collaborate with Finance, HR, Operations, IT, and external vendors to resolve complex issues while supporting a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, including multi-state payroll processing.
• Experience leading or supervising payroll staff.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll taxation and compliance.
• Experience with quarterly and year-end payroll tax reconciliations and filings.
• Experience with high-volume payroll processing, controls, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee bi-weekly payroll operations for 22,000+ team members across states.
• Lead, develop, and coach the payroll staff.
• Maintain payroll Sarbanes-Oxley controls to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Coordinate bi-weekly reconciliations and monthly payroll reporting.
• Collaborate with Finance, HR, Operations, IT, vendors, and agencies on payroll issues.
