We are currently hiring a Payroll Specialist / Accounting Assistant to support our finance and HR teams. This role is essential in ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing, benefits administration, and day-to-day accounting functions. You'll work closely with internal departments to support smooth financial operations while maintaining a high level of accuracy, discretion, and integrity.
Process biweekly payroll accurately and on time, in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Manage employee benefits programs including health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.
Handle payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Collaborate with HR on new employee onboarding and payroll system updates.
Maintain and audit employee compensation, benefits, and tax documentation.
Assist with accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, and payment processing.
Track, categorize, and reconcile expenses across departments.
Prepare financial reports and summaries for leadership review.
Support month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Work with external vendors and financial service providers as needed.
Ensure financial and payroll practices are compliant with internal policies and legal standards.
Keep accurate and organized digital records of financial transactions and payroll activity.
Prepare reports for internal and external audits.
Proven experience in payroll processing, benefits administration, and general accounting tasks.
Working knowledge of federal and state tax laws, wage and hour regulations, and benefits compliance.
Strong attention to detail with excellent time management and organizational skills.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel in particular) and comfort using MacOS.
Familiarity with accounting and payroll software systems (QuickBooks, ADP, Gusto, etc. a plus).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
