Job summary

A staffing agency is seeking a Payroll Specialist in Charlotte, NC for a remote position. Responsibilities include responding to inquiries, maintaining accurate records for audits, and processing payroll transactions. Qualifications

  • Process off-cycle payroll transactions.
  • Perform additional payroll-related tasks as needed.

Job title: Payroll Specialist
Contract Duration: 4 months
Location: Charlotte, NC - Remote (must be local to Charlotte)
Potential Shift Times:M-F: 8-1pm, 11-4pm or 2-7pm
Compensation: $18.00/hour


Payroll Specialist

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to incoming inquiries in accordance with established procedures and service standards.

  • Create and maintain accurate records for each request or issue to support audit requirements and reporting.

  • Follow documented departmental processes and guidelines to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • Understand and address payroll-related questions from employees or managers, escalating issues when necessary.

  • Utilize payroll systems and related applications to process transactions and maintain employee records.

  • Manage email communications, responding to requests in a timely and professional manner.

  • Process off-cycle payroll transactions in accordance with standard procedures.

  • Perform additional administrative or payroll-related tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Knowledge of payroll processes and procedures preferred.

  • Experience with payroll or ERP systems (e.g., SAP) preferred.
