Job summary

LeCom Utility Contractors, Inc is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to manage payroll for field crews, CDL drivers, and administrative staff across multiple states. The role ensures accurate overtime, bonuses, deductions, and compliance with wage laws while coordinating with project managers for job costing.

Qualified candidates will have 2+ years of payroll experience, preferably in construction or utilities, and a strong command of Excel and payroll software such as Dayforce.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 2+ years of payroll experience, preferably in construction, utilities, or infrastructure services
• Experience processing payroll for field employees and multi-state operations
• Knowledge of payroll systems (Dayforce experience preferred)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll/accounting software
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Process weekly payroll for field and office employees, including hourly, and salaried workers
• Accurately calculate overtime, prevailing wages (if applicable), bonuses, and deductions
• Review and verify timesheets from field crews, foremen, and supervisors
• Coordinate with project managers and operations teams to ensure accurate job costing and labor allocation
• Maintain employee payroll records, including tax forms, direct deposits, and benefit deductions
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, including multi-state payroll requirements
• Process garnishments, child support, and other wage attachments
• Respond to employee payroll-related inquiries in a timely and professional manner
• Assist with internal and external payroll audits
• Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and payroll information
