Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Kent, Ohio is seeking a Payroll Specialist for a full-time role. Training will occur in the Kent office, with a transition to hybrid work after the training period.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-3 years of payroll processing experience preferred.

Position Overview

The Davey Tree Expert Company has a career opportunity in the Kent, Ohio corporate office for a full-time Payroll Specialist.

Training for this position will be in office, at our corporate office in Kent, Ohio. The position will move to hybrid after the training timeframe is complete.

The position will be $25 hourly.

• Maintains payroll information by collecting and entering data.
• Prepare checks for mailing and distribution
• Administering certified payroll
• Garnishments/child support orders
• Union reporting
• Processing of payroll tax transfers
• Daily payroll related duties
• Responding to phone inquiries
• Assist with audits by providing document research

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong skills in Excel
• Protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
• Capable of effectively interacting with professional staff
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Confidentiality

Education and/or experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-3 years of payroll processing experience preferred.
• SAP R/3 knowledge is a plus.
