Cobalt Global Partners in San Diego, CA is seeking a Payroll Clerk to process payroll for the organization's employees. This full-time role covers wage calculation, tax withholding, deductions, and distribution of pay stubs, while maintaining accurate payroll records.

You will collaborate with the accounting team, ensure compliance with payroll regulations, and support HR with hires, terminations, and status changes. A negotiable salary is offered along with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of payroll processing experience.
• Proficient in Excel and Word.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Experience with ADP, Paychex, or QuickBooks is a plus.
• Knowledge of payroll laws is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll for approximately 50 employees, including calculating gross and net pay, deducting taxes and benefits, and issuing payment.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including tax forms, benefit information, and direct deposit details.
• Generate and distribute payroll reports, including timesheets, tax forms, and benefit statements.
• Collaborate with the accounting department to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll expenses and reimbursements.
• Assist in the preparation and filing of payroll tax returns, including federal, state, and local taxes.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
• Provide payroll support to the HR department, including processing new hires, terminations, and changes in employee status.
• Assist in the preparation of year-end payroll processing, including bonus calculations and distributions.
