The position requires attention to detail, strong data-entry skills, and experience with payroll software. Candidates should be capable of handling confidential information and adhering to policy within a correctional services context.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 2 years progressive payroll experience or clerical payroll work.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to follow complex instructions.
• Proficient with computers and payroll software.
• Must be 21+ and US citizen; capable of background check.

Responsibilities

• Compile payroll data (time tracking, taxes, insurance, garnishments).
• Prepare input forms and enter wage/deduction data.
• Review wages and correct errors for accuracy.
• Record changes affecting net wages and update payroll records.
• Record inter-department transfers and prorate expenses for cost accounting.
• Prepare earnings, tax, and deduction reports.
• Maintain leave/pay records and issue paychecks.
