Title: Payroll Analyst III
Start/End Dates: 2/25/2025 - 8/24/2025
Work Location: Virtual TX *candidate can sit anywhere US-must be able to work core PST hours of 9a-3p with flexibility of start and end times, in their time zone.

Job Summary
Ability to perform all duties of a Payroll Analyst III as business needs and workload dictates and supervises all activities necessary to process 1 or more payrolls by performing or ensuring: maintaining related records, processing involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments, preparing accounting transactions and documents, and preparing special reports for senior management. Maintains payroll-related accounts and is responsible for the funding and disbursement of funds through third party vendors as well as administration of 401(k) plan contributions and disbursements. Prepares various accounting papers, schedules, exhibits, and summaries. Ensures accuracy and manages executive compensation transactions in partnership with the compensation team. Provides policy information and employee specific data to employees in a customer service capacity. May perform periodic internal audits of various payroll areas and prepare materials for external or internal auditors. Conducts payroll staff, employee and manager training and education in formal and casual settings. Interacts with internal department representatives to resolve issues and ensure processes and data exchanges are clear. Contributes toward setting performance standards, financial controls, and processes for the group. Recommends process improvements to support efficiencies and/or customer experience. Monitors industry trends, products and information and recommends improvements and/or enhancements to the department. Provides input, evaluation, and assessment of performance of other payroll staff. Administer the company’s payroll system and associated interfaces/data feeds/connections to other systems critical to the accurate processing of payroll and reporting. Develops testing scenarios and reports, to assist in establishing new processes or configurations within the Workday environment.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Payroll Processing (75%)
- Huddle Board updates and oversight/archiving of Payroll tasks required to complete each payroll period.
- Tracking and processing On Demand checks and error ratio to normal payroll.
- Review of payroll work products, such as payroll audits, journals, certifications, and other work completed by payroll team members.
- Ensure accuracy of Executive compensation transactions.
- Periodic participation in audits and preparing materials for internal and external auditors.
- Preparation of payroll reasonability and completion of all payroll transactions.
Continuous Improvement (25%)
- Interacts with internal representatives to resolve issues and ensure changes are clear.
- Monitors processing issues and works with team to resolve issues and/or implement work arounds for interim use.
- Assists with development of BOT’s/automations through report writing.
- Develop ad-hoc testing scenarios and reports.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways.
- Works on problems of diverse and complex scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel.
- Receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.
Job Specifications
- Education: Associate degree and FPC or CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) designation preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years payroll experience, preferably within a company or corporation of 5000+ employees with multiple entities and multiple states. Strong PC skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and experience with large ERP systems preferred.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
