Job summary

Dematic is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support multi-state payroll processing for U.S. hourly employees and Canada as needed. The role requires strong communication, time management, and advanced Excel skills.

You will verify employee data in systems and collaborate with HR and finance to ensure accuracy. The position is hybrid (three days in-office) in the Milwaukee/Grand Rapids region with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll processing experience.
• Knowledge of federal and state tax laws.
• Experience with UKG/WFN, ADP, Workday or similar payroll systems.
• Advanced Excel including vlookup, xlookup and pivot tables.
• Knowledge of US benefit plans and North American payroll.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate or Bachelor's preferred.
• Proficiency in basic accounting and business software.

Responsibilities

• Process multi-state payroll for U.S. hourly employees and Canada support.
• Verify accuracy of employee information in payroll systems.
• Prepare and distribute payroll reports to departments and managers.
• Respond to inquiries from employees and third-party agencies.
• Participate in mergers and acquisitions integrations.
• Assist system implementations and improve payroll processes.
• Collaborate with HRIS to ensure integration requirements are met.

As a Payroll Specialist with Dematic, you will be supporting payroll processing for multi-state payroll functions. The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $19.81 - $27.24 per hour at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications:

This is what you will do in this role:

• Working in collaboration with Payroll team to prepare and process multi-state payroll for U.S. hourly 1500+ employees and Canada support on 300+ employees
• Verify accuracy of employee information in the payroll systems: Workday, ADP WFN Canada, and UKG Workforce Management
• Participate in preparation and distribution of various reports to departments and managers
• Respond to inquiries from employees and 3rd party agencies
• Participate in integration of mergers and acquisitions
• Participate in system implementations along with identifying, analyzing, and improving business processes within our department for optimization or standards of quality
• Collaborate with human resource information system to ensure integration requirements are accurately implemented

What we are looking for:

• 4+ years of payroll processing, preferably multi-state payroll experience
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge of federal and state tax laws
• Previous experience using UKG Workforce Management Time and Attendance, ADP Workforce Now, Workday, or similar payroll systems
• Expertise in Excel including experience with vlookup, xlookup and pivot tables
• Knowledge of US benefit plans and North American (US, Canada & Mexico) payroll processes is a plus
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required, with Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred
• Proficiency in basic accounting and business software
