Job summary

Talentify is seeking a Payroll Specialist to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing and auditing. You will also respond to payroll questions from employees and management, and handle timekeeping discrepancies with precision.

The role requires familiarity with automated payroll systems (ADP preferred), knowledge of payroll deductions, and timely tax deposits. Strong communication, computer skills, and customer service are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Recent payroll processing experience using an automated time and attendance system.
• ADP and automated timekeeping experience preferred.
• Healthcare / hospital experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles.
• Excellent communication skills including correct grammar and spelling.
• Excellent computer skills and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, process and audit accurate and timely payroll using automated payroll system, including manual checks when necessary.
• Respond, research and resolve problems or payroll issues presented by employees and management.
• Review and process Personnel Action Forms implementing changes as necessary per policy.
• Establish, track and verify employee deductions, including wage garnishments.
• Prepare and submit bi-weekly payroll tax deposits to federal and state authorities.

PAYROLL SPECIALIST

The PAYROLL SPECIALIST is responsible for the timely processing and auditing necessary to produce an accurate and timely payroll, including the timely filing of state and federal tax documents. In addition, the PAYROLL SPECIALIST provides positive customer services in responding to payroll / payment issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Prepare, process and audit accurate and timely payroll using automated payroll system, including preparation of manual checks, when necessary
• Respond, research and resolve problems or issues presented by employees and management regarding timekeeping, payroll and payroll deductions
• Review and process Personnel Action Form implementing changes as necessary per policy
• Establish, track and verify employee related deductions, including wage garnishments
• Prepare and submit to the appropriate federal and state authorities, the bi-weekly payroll tax deposits

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:

• High School Education/GED preferred
• Recent payroll processing experience using an automated time and attendance system
• ADP and automated timekeeping experience preferred
