Job summary

Beacon Hill, located in Raleigh, NC, seeks a Payroll Specialist to ensure accurate, timely payroll processing and help with related payroll functions using Paycom.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of payroll experience, strong knowledge of payroll laws, and proficiency in Excel. CPP is a plus. You will support HR and Accounting, handle confidential information, and contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of payroll processing experience.
  • Hands-on experience using Paycom.
  • Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax withholdings, garnishments and compliance requirements.
  • Experience processing multi-state payroll preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • CPP certification is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Processing weekly, bi-weekly, and/or semi-monthly payroll using Paycom.
  • Reviewing payroll data for accuracy, including hours, earnings, deductions, benefits, and taxes.
  • Auditing payroll transactions and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining employee payroll records and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Processing new hires, terminations, status changes, garnishments, and direct deposit updates within Paycom.
  • Assisting employees and managers with payroll-related questions and issues.
  • Reconciling payroll reports, benefits deductions, and payroll-related general ledger accounts.
  • Supporting month-end and year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and payroll audits.
  • Collaborating with HR and Accounting to ensure accurate data.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes and Paycom efficiencies.
