Responsibilities

• Process weekly payroll accurately and on schedule.

• Ensure compliance with payroll regulations at all levels.
• Respond to employee payroll questions professionally.
• Maintain payroll and HR records and documentation.
• Prepare payroll reports and assist with payroll funding.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.

Reporting directly to the Controller, this role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll while supporting a variety of accounting functions that are critical to the organization's success.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll

• Process weekly payroll accurately and on schedule.
• Review employee time records and verify payroll accuracy.
• Maintain payroll records, deductions, garnishments, benefits, and retirement contributions.
• Process payroll taxes, deposits, and quarterly payroll tax filings.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Respond to employee payroll questions with professionalism and confidentiality.
• Maintain payroll and HR records, including electronic filing and documentation.
• Prepare payroll reports and assist with payroll funding.

Accounting

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Perform bank reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end close activities.
• Review job costing and support financial reporting.
• Assist with audit preparation and other accounting projects.
• Partner with the Controller on process improvements and departmental initiatives.

Qualifications

• Must reside in Odessa, TX
• Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience.
• Previous accounting experience required.
• Strong understanding of payroll regulations, payroll tax reporting, and general accounting principles.
• Experience with Vista Payroll is highly preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
