Job summary

Vaco/Highspring is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to join a lean, hands-on payroll team on a full-time, direct-hire basis. This role reports directly to the Manager, Payroll & Benefits Accounting and operates within a semi-monthly, multi-state payroll environment.

The ideal candidate brings senior-level payroll experience, can work independently with minimal ramp-up, and collaborates closely with the Benefits Director on payroll and benefits matters.

Qualifications

• Strong Workday Payroll experience required.
• Experience processing Leave of Absence transactions in Workday.
• Multi-state payroll experience and related tax knowledge.
• Senior-level payroll background required.
• Ability to work independently with minimal training.
• Experience supporting lean payroll teams.
• Strong communication skills and stakeholder management.

• Process semi-monthly payroll for a multi-state employee population.
• Administer LOA transactions within Workday.
• Support payroll processing for new hires and terminations.
• Perform retroactive payroll calculations and adjustments.

Our client is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to join a lean, hands-on Payroll team on a full-time, direct-hire basis. This role reports directly to the Manager, Payroll & Benefits Accounting and operates within a semi-monthly, multi-state payroll environment.

The ideal candidate is a senior-level payroll professional who can work independently with minimal ramp-up and is comfortable being hands-on within a small team.

Responsibilities:

• Process semi-monthly payroll for a multi-state employee population

• Administer Leave of Absence (LOA) transactions within Workday

• Support payroll processing for new hires and terminations

• Perform retroactive payroll calculations and adjustments

• Coordinate regularly with the Benefits Director on payroll and benefits matters

• Operate independently within a lean team structure, escalating appropriately to the Manager, Payroll & Benefits Accounting

Requirements:

• Strong Workday Payroll experience (required)

• Multi-state payroll experience and related tax knowledge (required)
