Job summary

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of payroll experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.
  • Expertise in multi-state payroll tax compliance.
  • Strong Excel and payroll reporting proficiency.
  • Experience coordinating with government agencies for tax account setup.

Responsibilities

  • Payroll Processing: Biweekly and special payrolls for a large, commission-based workforce using ADP Workforce Now.
  • Validate commission calculations, bonuses, and other variable pay components.
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and review reports for accuracy.
  • Tax Compliance & Jurisdiction Setup: Establish new tax accounts in additional jurisdictions with federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of all payroll tax returns and payments.
  • Audit & Reporting: Maintain accurate payroll records and prepare audit-ready documentation.
  • Generate payroll and tax reports for Finance, HR, and leadership teams.
  • Employee Support: Respond to payroll-related inquiries with professionalism and accuracy.
  • Educate employees on payroll processes, tax withholdings, and commission statements.

Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll operations for a high volume of commission-based employees across multiple states. This role requires deep expertise in ADP Workforce Now, multi-state payroll tax compliance, and the ability to work directly with government agencies to establish tax accounts in new jurisdictions.

Responsibilities
  • Payroll Processing:
  • Accurately process biweekly and special payrolls for a large, commission-based workforce using ADP Workforce Now.
  • Validate commission calculations, bonuses, and other variable pay components.

  • Partner with federal, state, and local agencies to establish new tax accounts in additional jurisdictions.

Qualifications
  • Experience: 5+ years of payroll experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.
  • Systems: Advanced proficiency in ADP Workforce Now (required).
  • Expertise: Strong knowledge of payroll tax laws, multi-state compliance, and commission-based payroll.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with payroll reporting tools.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC).
