Qualifications

  • Strong payroll tax experience with a solid understanding of multi-state payroll regulations.
  • Experience with payroll processing for a large employee base.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with internal teams and external clients.

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly multi-state payroll for approximately 2,500 employees, alternating duties with the Payroll Specialist.
  • Handle off-cycle payroll processing as needed.
  • Maintain and update employee records to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist with prevailing wage calculations and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Record benefit and standard deductions, including garnishments and union benefits.
  • Communicate effectively with branches and external clients, providing timely responses to inquiries.
  • Prepare and analyze weekly, monthly, and quarterly payroll reports, including ad-hoc reports as requested.
  • Review and reconcile employee tax records to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to company audit procedures and internal controls.
  • Monitor and manage the payroll email inbox, addressing inquiries and issues promptly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
