Surge Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our Payroll team in Columbus, OH. You will process payroll for temporary employees, maintain accurate records, and provide exceptional support to branch offices.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and customer service are essential. Experience with payroll systems and MS Office is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process payroll information from timesheets, time clocks, electronic systems, and other approved documentation.
• Accurately enter payroll data to ensure timely and accurate employee pay.
• Verify payroll information and research discrepancies to resolve issues.
• Process direct deposit enrollments and updates.
• Review, process, and enter child support, medical support, wage garnishments, and tax levy deductions.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation.
• Respond to payroll-related questions from branch offices and provide exceptional customer service.
• Troubleshoot payroll and system-related issues.
• Participate in payroll and field staff training as needed.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and payroll procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the Payroll department and overall business operations.
