Shelter Insurance is seeking a Payroll Specialist in Missouri to handle payroll processing and benefits administration with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance.
You will work with HRIS/HRMS systems, coordinate with vendors, and ensure timely reporting while upholding HIPAA and ERISA requirements in a collaborative team environment.

Payroll Specialist $19.28 - $23.13 minimum starting pay
Job Level: Individual Contributor
Shelter maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in geographic location, education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Please remember that this range is the starting base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position.
Primarily responsible for payroll processing or administering benefit plans with focus on superior customer service and adherence to policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
Reviews, monitors, and audits information submitted to the HRIS system to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Works with vendors to coordinate information and assists with questions regarding payroll, benefits, and benefit claims.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and professional interaction, including working with vendors and third-party administrators.
Superior customer service skills.
Must possess technical ability to effectively utilize HRMS including running various tasks to complete accurate scheduled payroll and reporting.
Performs all aspects of the job with meticulous attention to detail and adherence to guidelines and regulations such as HIPAA and ERISA
Ability to collaborate well with vendors to ensure compliance surrounding various benefits, including defined benefit and defined contribution plans.
Analytical and organizational skills to work effectively in detail-oriented environment.
On-the-job training to become familiar with terminology, company, and department organization.
Payroll or benefit experience preferred.
Ability to perform essential functions of the job, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
