Job summary

LaSalle Network is hiring for a Direct Hire Payroll Specialist in Brentwood, TN. The role requires owning end-to-end multi-state payroll, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing across states.

You will manage changes, audits, and vendor relations, while partnering with HR on deductions and benefits. Hybrid work model with strong Excel and ADP expertise preferred.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive payroll experience with hands-on ownership of full-cycle, multi-state payroll.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state and local payroll tax requirements, wage and hour laws, W-2s and Form 941.
  • Experience with payroll auditing and general ledger reconciliation.
  • Advanced payroll-system skills including processing, configuration, reporting, auditing and optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end multi-state payroll processing.
  • Manage payroll schedules, deadlines, review and final approvals.
  • Process and manage payroll changes including new hires, terminations, compensation changes, bonuses, deductions and adjustments.
  • Review timecard and payroll data before submission.
  • Maintain and configure the payroll system and ensure data integrity.
  • Establish payroll controls, audits and reconciliation processes.
  • Manage payroll vendor relationships.
  • Serve as the subject-matter expert for complex payroll questions.
  • Create and maintain payroll procedures, documentation and training materials.
  • Own federal, state and local payroll compliance.
  • Handle garnishments, liens, child support and tax levies.
  • Support payroll tax and 401(k) audits.
  • Prepare payroll reporting for Finance and Accounting.
  • Perform payroll and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Resolve payroll-tax discrepancies.
  • Own and support W-2 and year-end payroll activities.
  • Partner with HR on benefits deductions and employee changes.
