ExED is seeking a Payroll and Retirement Associate in Los Angeles to join a 16-person payroll team serving charter schools. You will lead payroll processing, ensure data integrity, and support retirement plans (CalSTRS/CalPERS) for multiple client schools.

The role requires 3–5 years of payroll experience, strong Excel/Word skills, and a customer-service mindset. Collaboration with accounting and ExED staff is essential to maintain compliance and accuracy.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3–5 years of payroll processing experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Interest in public education.

Responsabilidades

• Upload or key data, review, and process payroll for multiple client schools.
• Maintain accurate data in payroll system and files.
• Determine eligibility for CalSTRS and CalPERS retirement plans.
• Setup and process garnishments.
• Submit 401(k) and 403(b) deductions to vendors.
• Create and submit retirement reports.
• Knowledge of quarterly payroll tax filings.
• Deposit SDI payments online.
• Assist in payroll policy training.
• Coordinate with accounting and ExED staff.
• Assist schools with payroll questions.
