Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED and 4+ years of work/education experience or an Associate degree.
  • Experience handling confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong analytical and data-entry accuracy skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Federal Wage and Hour Law and tax regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly payroll for assigned units/locations.
  • Edit, code and enter all payroll data with accuracy.
  • Provide timekeeping guidance to site managers and HR.
  • Run payroll reports and distribute them to site contacts.
  • Act as payroll contact for assigned sites and backup for team members.

Apply now.**A Brief Summary of This Position:**This individual contributor position is responsible for the payroll data entry, processing and reconciling of bi-weekly and weekly payroll. Duties include meeting deadlines with minimal errors, basic knowledge of various federal, state and local tax withholding regulations and wage garnishments. The incumbent answers basic employee/supervisor questions regarding company payroll related policies and procedures. Interfaces with employees and outside organizations to present a favorable service impression of the Payroll department. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required to maintain and enhance the department’s focus as a service department.**Essential Functions:*** Perform weekly payroll processing for assigned business units/locations* Correct and analyze first and final payroll reports* Edits, codes and enters all payroll data for assigned locations* Provide timekeeping guidance to site managers/human resource representatives* Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds, although most frequent lift is under 10 pounds* This position reports to the Senior Manager Payroll and has no direct or indirect reports**Other Important Details about the Role:*** Running payroll related reports* Distribution of payroll related reports to site contacts* Act as the initial payroll contact for assigned sites/locations* Act as backup to other department members**Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):*** High School Diploma/GED and 4+ years of work/educational experience or Associates Degree* Experience with use of proper discretion in handling of highly confidential information* Strong analytical skills* Strong data entry skills with high accuracy rates* Basic knowledge of Federal Wage and Hour Law* Understanding of federal and state tax regulations as related to employee pay checks**Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:*** Previous experience using an integrated HR/Payroll processing package, such as ADP/Vantage and Workday* Multi-state and local tax payroll processing experience* Strong working knowledge in Microsoft Excel and demonstrated ability with other MS Office applications* Well organized and detail-oriented, able to work around interruptions* Excellent customer service skills and experience**Benefits**Valmont offers employees and their families a comprehensive Total Wellbeing benefit package to ensure their individual and family’s overall wellness needs are met.
