Job summary

Mariner Finance seeks an experienced payroll leader to oversee the end-to-end payroll function across multiple states. You will guide strategy, drive process improvements, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while leading a high-performing payroll team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field; four years of college coursework or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of eight years of progressive payroll experience in a high-volume, multi-state environment.
• Experience administering payroll for a large workforce with high accuracy and compliance.
• Leadership experience with accountability for performance, process improvement, and technology initiatives.
• At least two years of people leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws and tax regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end payroll, multi-state processing, and payroll cycle controls.
• Set payroll strategy and priorities aligned with organizational objectives.
• Develop and lead a payroll team with clear goals and accountability.
• Oversee payroll systems, integrations, testing, upgrades, and issue resolution.
• Document and improve payroll processes and internal controls.
