Job summary

Vida HR is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead a team handling multi-state payroll for a varied client portfolio. This working-manager role combines people leadership, payroll operations, and process improvements in a hybrid environment with on-site presence in Colorado Springs.

You will oversee daily payroll processing, ensure timely delivery, participate in client implementations, and maintain SOPs while leveraging isolved technology.

Qualifications

• 7+ years hands-on payroll processing across multi-state environments.
• 2+ years supervisory experience.
• Ability to lead payroll operations while processing payroll and resolving complex issues.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll requirements, wage and hour considerations, garnishments, payroll taxes, and year-end processes.
• Strong client-service judgment, attention to detail, organization, and written and verbal communication.
• Ability to prioritize competing deadlines, make sound decisions, and remain calm and accountable when resolving urgent payroll matters.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and hold accountable the payroll team through coaching and performance management.
• Coordinate daily payroll operations and ensure client payrolls are accurate and on time.
• Support payroll readiness reviews and stabilization for new clients' first live payrolls.
• Document client-specific payroll requirements and complete structured handoffs after stabilization.
• Escalate complex payroll questions and coordinate corrective actions with clients.
