What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
  • Manage and execute bi-weekly payroll for approximately 140 employees across multiple states
  • Review, validate, and reconcile payroll data, ensuring compliance with tax regulations
  • Process payroll registers, direct deposits, and third-party payments accurately and timely
  • Prepare documentation and schedules for 401(k) audits and resolve any discrepancies
  • Partner with state tax agencies on payroll tax registrations and issue resolutions
What is Required (Qualifications):
  • 7+ years of U.S. payroll experience with full-cycle, multi-state payroll management
  • Previous experience as the primary payroll manager in a similar-sized organization
  • Strong knowledge of payroll controls, compliance, and reporting (940, 941, W-2, 401(k))
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting or leading 401(k) audits
  • Proficiency in at least one mid-market payroll platform (e.g., ADP, Paylocity, Paycom, Workday)
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
  • Experience handling state payroll tax registrations in multiple jurisdictions
  • Background in startup, fintech, or SaaS environments
