Job summary

The Bachrach Group is seeking a Payroll Manager to oversee full-cycle payroll for a multi-location organization with a hybrid work arrangement in New York state. The role emphasizes accuracy, compliance, and collaboration with HR, Finance, and Operations.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of payroll management experience, strong Excel skills, and a solid understanding of payroll laws and tax regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years payroll management experience.
• Experience processing payroll for multi-location organizations required.
• Union payroll experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, formulas, and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full-cycle payroll process for a multi-location workforce.
• Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on schedule while maintaining compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
• Oversee payroll reconciliations, reporting, audits, and financial analysis.
• Partner with Human Resources, Finance, and Operations to resolve payroll-related questions and discrepancies.
• Maintain payroll records and ensure strict confidentiality of employee information.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel to prepare reports, analyze payroll data, and reconcile payroll information.
• Support month-end and year-end payroll activities, including tax reporting and compliance.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, increase efficiency, and implement best practices.
• Assist with payroll-related projects and other departmental initiatives as needed.
