AllianceHCM in The Woodlands, TX seeks a Payroll Manager to lead a high-performing payroll team and ensure compliance across multi-state payroll and regulations.

You will mentor staff, drive process improvements, and partner with client services to deliver exceptional client experiences. This role offers leadership exposure within a fast-growing HCM organization.

Qualifications

• CPP Certification required.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• 7+ years of payroll experience.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing payroll or client service teams.
• Strong expertise in multi-state payroll, payroll taxation, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing payroll team.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll regulations (FLSA, multi-state).
• Drive automation, process improvements, and system enhancements.
• Serve as a senior escalation resource for complex client matters and strategic payroll guidance.

QUALIFICATIONS

• CPP Certification
• Bachelor's degree
• 7+ years of payroll experience
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing payroll or client service teams
• Strong expertise in multi-state payroll, payroll taxation, and regulatory compliance

Experience in HCM, PEO, or high-growth SaaS environments is highly preferred. A bachelor's degree in a business-related field is preferred. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PAYROLL MANAGER

As our Payroll Manager, you'll serve as both a leader and strategic partner, guiding payroll professionals and service leaders while fostering a culture of accountability, development, and excellence. Throughout your day, you'll collaborate with team members to solve challenges, establish performance expectations, support professional growth, and ensure payroll operations continue to exceed expectations. You'll oversee compliance with federal and state payroll regulations, including FLSA, multi-state requirements, and payroll tax obligations, while continuously evaluating opportunities for automation, process enhancements, and system improvements. You'll also act as a senior escalation resource for complex client matters, using your expertise to advise organizations on payroll operations, risk management strategies, and industry best practices while ensuring exceptional client experiences remain at the center of everything we do.
