Job summary

Trout CPA is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead our payroll services team within Client Accounting Services. This role will oversee multi-client and multi-state payroll processing, strengthen compliance, develop team members, and serve as a trusted payroll advisor to clients across a variety of industries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 10+ years of payroll experience, preferably multi-client or CPA firm environment.
• CPP certification required.
• Expert knowledge of payroll platforms (Gusto, ADP, Paylocity, Evolution).
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with payroll tax reporting, HRIS and timekeeping integrations.

Requirements

• Leadership or management experience strongly preferred
• Certified Payroll Professional, CPP, certification required
• Expert knowledge of payroll platforms such as Gusto, ADP, Paylocity, and Evolution by Inova
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with payroll tax reporting, HRIS, and timekeeping integrations
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and client service skills
