Job summary

Dobbs Tire & Auto Centers is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead end-to-end payroll processing across multiple states, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely pay. You will manage ADP-based workflows, maintain employee records, and uphold internal controls.

This on-site role collaborates with HR and Finance on audits and reporting, drives systems improvements, and supports year-end processes. A CPP is a plus; extensive multi-state payroll law knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of payroll experience with 2+ years in leadership.
• Extensive experience with ADP Workforce Now.
• Deep knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and multi-state compliance.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• CPP certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll for hourly, salaried, and commission-based employees across multiple states.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, and internal controls.
• Maintain and update payroll systems, employee records, and deductions including benefits and garnishments.
• Resolve payroll discrepancies and serve as the primary contact for payroll-related inquiries.
• Collaborate with HR and Finance on reporting, audits, and reconciliations.
• Oversee year-end processes including W-2s, 1099s, and tax filings.
• Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes and enhance system efficiency.
• Support implementation and optimization of payroll-related tools and software.
• Ensure the confidentiality and security of payroll data.

What You'll Do:

• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) a plus
