Qualifications

• 7 years of payroll experience with 5 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience with multi-state payroll including union and non-union.
• CPP certification preferred but not required.
• Experience with Dayforce (Ceridian) and other ERP systems.
• Proficiency with MS Excel and MS 365.

Responsibilities

• Oversee weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing for 1000+ employees.
• Ensure payroll accuracy, tax withholding, and deductions in compliance with laws.
• Support internal and external audits with required reports.
• Coordinate with HR, accounting, and other departments to resolve issues.
• Serve as main payroll inquiries contact and provide timely service.

The Payroll Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll. This position is responsible for overseeing all payroll functions, including payroll calculations, reporting, compliance, and coordination with other departments to ensure seamless operations. The Payroll Manager will also serve as the main point of contact for payroll-related inquiries, providing excellent service and resolving any issues promptly. This role contributes significantly to maintaining employee satisfaction, compliance with regulations, and the overall efficiency of the company’s operations.

Job Requirements

• Ensuring accurate and timely payroll process for approximately 1000+ employees, including both union and non-union personnel, in accordance with company policies and state/federal regulations
• Oversee end-to-end processing of weekly and bi-weekly payroll including disbursements, wages, benefits, garnishments, and tax deductions
• Ensuring payroll compliance with applicable tax laws, wage & hour laws, and labor agreements.
• Reconcile payroll-related tax payments, ensuring timely submission and compliance for multi-states
• Processing of quarterly/year-end tax reports/filing including W-2s
• Prepare and assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary reports and documentation as needed, i.e. CPAs, Worker’s Comp, Union contract requirements

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma, or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field preferred.
• 7 years of payroll experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.
• Experience managing payroll in multiple ERP systems (payroll integration experience a plus)
• Previous experience using Dayforce (Ceridian) for payroll processing and reporting.
• Understanding of multi-state, construction industry, trade union, & non-union payroll requirements
• Proficient in MS 365 suite - Excel
