Addison Group in Sterling, VA is seeking a Payroll Lead to manage high-volume payroll operations and lead a payroll team. The role is a permanent, onsite position with a 9–5 schedule and a compensation range of $120,000 to $145,000 per year.

You will oversee union and non-union payroll, support onboarding of union employees, ensure accuracy of records, and implement process improvements while maintaining confidentiality.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee high-volume payroll operations for union and non-union employees
• Provide leadership and oversight to payroll team members
• Support onboarding of union employees and payroll system setup
• Ensure accuracy of payroll records
• Handle new hire documentation, payroll changes, status updates, and terminations
• Monitor paid time off balances including vacation, holiday, sick and safe leave
• Identify payroll discrepancies through weekly audits and coordinate timely resolution
• Collaborate with Foremen, Superintendents, Construction Managers, and other operational leaders on payroll issues
• Support sick and safe leave compliance
• Design and maintain leave accrual structures including eligibility and accrual rules
• Monitor regulatory changes impacting payroll and leave administration
• Prepare payroll, leave, and compliance-related reports and analysis
• Coordinate payroll adjustments including wage rates and related items
• Support internal and external payroll audits
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll efficiency and employee experience
• Assist with payroll process automation and system improvements
• Maintain confidentiality of payroll information
• Support additional payroll and accounting projects as needed

Assignment Type: Permanent Hire

Compensation: $120-145K

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and support high-volume payroll operations for union and non-union employees
• Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight to payroll team members
• Support weekly onboarding of union employees, including documentation review and payroll system setup
• Ensure employee payroll records are accurately created and maintained
• Review and process new hire documentation, payroll changes, status updates, and terminations
• Monitor paid time off balances including vacation, holiday, sick and safe leave, and other leave categories
• Identify payroll discrepancies through weekly audits and coordinate timely resolution
• Partner with Foremen, Superintendents, Construction Managers, and other operational leaders on payroll-related issues
• Support state and federal sick and safe leave compliance
• Help design and maintain leave accrual structures including eligibility, accrual rates, caps, carryover, and usage rules
• Monitor regulatory changes impacting payroll and leave administration
• Prepare payroll, leave, and compliance-related reports and analysis
• Coordinate payroll adjustments including wage rates, fringe adjustments, expenses, travel pay, subsistence, allowances, and other corrections
• Support internal and external payroll audits
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll efficiency, controls, and employee experience
• Assist with payroll process automation and system improvements
• Ensure payroll information is communicated accurately and timely while maintaining confidentiality
• Support additional payroll and accounting projects as needed
