Job summary

IronGate Business Advisors is hiring a Senior Payroll Implementation Manager to own end-to-end payroll setup for PCBP clients. You will map plans into clients’ systems, run mocks, audit outputs, and sign off before employees see paystubs.

The role requires deep knowledge of pre/post-tax deductions, 5+ payroll platforms, and strong client-facing collaboration. Remote through 12/31/2026 with onsite in South Florida starting 1/1/2027.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on payroll experience, including at senior/lead/manager level.
• Hands-on configuration, audit, and troubleshooting experience in 5+ payroll platforms (ADP, Paychex, Paylocity, Paycom, UKG, isolved, Gusto, Rippling, TriNet, Workday, NetSuite SuitePeople, QuickBooks Payroll, Sage)
• Proficiency in a major CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, Pipedrive, Monday.com, GoHighLevel or similar)
• Deep knowledge of pre‑tax/post‑tax deductions, Section 125 cafeteria plans, FICA/FUTA/SUTA, multi‑state withholding, imputed income, 941s, and W‑2 reporting
• Track record running mock/parallel payrolls and audits across multiple clients or entities
• Advanced Excel: pivots, XLOOKUP/INDEX‑MATCH, reconciliation modeling
• Based in South Florida (Miami‑Dade, Broward, Palm Beach) or willing to relocate by 1/1/2027

Senior Payroll Implementation Manager: PCBP Implementation

IronGate Business Advisors | South Florida (Remote through 12/31/2026, onsite starting 1/1/2027) | Full-Time W2

THE SHORT VERSION

We’re looking for the best payroll operator in South Florida. Not a processor, not someone who runs a cycle and closes the laptop. We want the person other payroll people call when something is broken.

IronGate builds and administers the Preventive Care Benefits Plan (PCBP), an integrated wellness and medical reimbursement program that lets employers reduce payroll tax liability while delivering a real preventive care benefit at no net cost to employees. Every PCBP client goes live through payroll, which makes this role the operational spine of the entire program.

You’ll be the person who touches a new client’s payroll system, maps the plan into it, runs the mocks, audits the output, and signs off that it’s clean before a single employee sees a paystub. When it’s right, nobody notices. When it’s wrong, everybody does. We’re hiring someone who makes sure it’s right.

WHAT YOU’LL ACTUALLY DO

Implementation

• Own end-to-end payroll setup for new PCBP clients on whatever platform they already run, you go to their system, they don’t come to yours
• Build and configure pre-tax and post-tax deduction codes, earning codes, and reimbursement add-backs
• Run mock and parallel payrolls before every go-live, reconciling line by line and resolving every variance before launch
• Partner directly with client payroll admins, CFOs, controllers, and their outside CPAs, often people skeptical until you show your work

Audit & Reporting

• Run pre-implementation eligibility audits (hours worked, wage thresholds, ownership exclusions, multi-EIN and multi-state complexity)
• Run post-launch audits on a defined cadence, catching drift, coding errors, and census changes
• Deliver recurring client-facing reporting: participation, per-employee impact, quarterly reconciliation, year-end filing impact
• Produce documentation and audit trails that hold up to a client’s CPA, their auditor, or a regulator

Program Operations

• Maintain the implementation playbook and system-specific runbooks
• Partner with IronGate’s internal CPAs and tax advisory team to keep payroll mechanics aligned with the tax strategy
• Track every client through the pipeline in our CRM
• Flag process gaps and build the fixes, this role has real authority to change how we do things
• As the book of business grows, help build and lead the payroll operations function

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE

Strongly preferred:

• CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or FPC
• Background at a PEO, ASO, payroll bureau, benefits administrator, or multi‑client accounting firm
• Experience with Section 105 / HRA / MERP / self‑insured medical reimbursement arrangements
• Comfort presenting to a client’s leadership team and defending the numbers

WHO THIS IS RIGHT FOR

You’re precise to the point of being a little annoying about it. You reconcile to the penny because "close enough" in payroll becomes a corrected W-2 in February. You’d rather find the error yourself at 6pm than have a client find it at 8am.

You’re also not a back‑office hermit. You can sit across from a skeptical controller and walk them through the numbers calmly, in plain English, until they get it.

You want ownership. This is a build role, and the playbook you write is the playbook we use.

COMPENSATION & LOGISTICS

Employment: Full-time, W2

Location: Remote through 12/31/2026, onsite in South Florida starting 1/1/2027. Relocation assistance available

Base salary: Healthy Base Salary, commensurate with experience and certification

Bonus: Performance bonus tied to implementation volume, launch accuracy, and client retention
