Qualifications

• Six months of entry technical level experience in human resource work equivalent to a Human Resource Technician 1 with the State of Alaska or the equivalent elsewhere.
• Graduation from high school or the equivalent and one year of advanced clerical experience.
• One year of postsecondary education (32 semester hours or 48 quarter hours) from an accredited college or university equals one year.

Responsibilities

• Process, certify, review and audit payroll and personnel actions for the Alaska Marine Highway System.
• Provide technical information and assistance to managers, employees and the public.
• Ensure payroll, personnel and leave transactions comply with rules, bargaining units and procedures.
• Support an HR team focused on accuracy, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
