Job summary

Department of Transportation and Public Facilities in Juneau seeks a Payroll Technician (Human Resource Technician 2) to ensure accurate payroll and personnel actions for the Alaska Marine Highway System. You will work under supervision to certify and audit transactions and assist managers, employees and the public with HR information.

Qualifications

• Six months of entry technical level HR experience equivalent to a HR Technician 1.
• Ability to process payroll and personnel actions accurately according to rules.
• Willingness to work with managers, employees and the public.
• Understanding of recruitment, payroll, benefits and HR compliance.

Responsibilities

• Process, certify, review and audit payroll and personnel actions for AHMS.
• Provide technical information and assistance to managers, employees and the public.
• Ensure payroll transactions comply with personnel rules and bargaining unit provisions.
• Support the payroll services supervisor in daily operations.
