Our team is growing, and we are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk / Accounts Payable Specialist to support both payroll and accounting operations. This role is remote, with preference for candidates in the Orlando, FL area who can collaborate with our team across multiple sites.

Position Overview

The Payroll Clerk / Accounts Payable Specialist is a key member of our finance team. This dual role ensures that employees are paid accurately and on time while managing vendor invoices and payments with precision. The right candidate will bring strong organizational skills, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.

Responsibilities
Payroll
  • Process biweekly payroll for multiple facilities across states.
  • Review timesheets, overtime, shift differentials, and deductions for accuracy.
  • Maintain employee payroll files and ensure compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Provide prompt, professional responses to employee payroll inquiries.
  • Support year-end processes, including W-2 distribution and reporting.
Accounts Payable
  • Receive, review, and process vendor invoices with proper coding and approvals.
  • Prepare and process ACH, wire transfers, and check payments.
  • Reconcile vendor statements, resolve discrepancies, and maintain accurate AP records.
  • Assist with accruals, monthly reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Support audits and ensure all records meet compliance standards.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years of combined payroll and accounts payable experience.
  • Experience with payroll systems (ADP, Paylocity, Paychex, or similar).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and basic accounting principles.
  • High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.
