Role: Payroll Assistant

Job Location: New York, NY

Shift: (08:00 – 5:00) Mon to Fri

Job Duration: 13+ Weeks [With potential to convert into FTE]

Responsibilities:

1. Gathering and examining timesheets to ensure their validity.
2. Entering start and end times onto the payroll software.
3. Capturing approved annual and sick leave.
4. Ensuring that compensation for overtime work is calculated at the appropriate rate and that annual leave is calculated accordingly, if applicable.
5. Confirming that legally-mandated and optional deductions have been processed correctly.
6. Preparing and distributing hard copy or electronic paychecks.
7. Performing all tasks well before the pay run to ensure that staff members are compensated and notified on time.
8. Addressing queries about payroll-related issues.
9. Working to resolve discrepancies in payments as a matter of urgency.

Requirements:

1. 2 years of experience as a Payroll Assistant.
2. BLS from AHA.
3. Bachelor's Degree.
