Job summary

Sappi North America in Boston with corporate offices in Portland, Maine, is seeking a Payroll/AP Specialist to support hourly and salary payroll processing across locations. The role requires a high degree of confidentiality, accuracy and strong communication skills.

You will work closely with Corporate HR, site payroll departments and the Accounts Payable group to ensure timely payments, payroll audits and vendor data maintenance. Prior ADP Enterprise and SAP experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in payroll, preferably in a manufacturing or large multi-location environment.
• Experience in a union environment and handling 2500+ employee payroll is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Fundamental Payroll Certification a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to perform in a high-demand, confidential environment.
• Experience with ADP Enterprise and SAP is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll changes and time edits for hourly and non-exempt employees including overtime and holidays.
• Collaborate with Corporate HR, site payroll departments and accounts payable to ensure accurate payroll processing.
• Evaluate pay discrepancies, process corrections, and explain pay standards with discretion.
• Prepare and distribute payroll reports and genetic wage-related reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and company policies.
• Assist with vendor master data updates and AP reconciliation tasks as needed.
