Job summary

Franklin Templeton is seeking a Payroll Analyst to efficiently process and administer payroll data, ensuring accurate compensation and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include processing new hires, tax forms, leaves, garnishments, pension plans, and year-end activities while coordinating with business partners and vendors.

The role is hybrid with onsite presence 3 days per week. Candidates should have 3+ years of multi-state payroll experience, expertise in Workday Payroll, and strong

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of Multi-State/Multi-Entity payroll experience REQUIRED.
  • Proficiency in Workday Payroll - Full Cycle - REQUIRED.
  • Experience with ADP Smart Compliance (or equivalent tax service) for 3rd party tax processing, amendments, maintenance and ad-hoc research
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Canadian & LATAM payroll is a PLUS
  • Journal Entry preparation and review
  • Proficient problem-solving skills as it relates to occasional complex payroll issues and error analysis
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Provide support to other team members as needed
  • Effective communication skills are necessary (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to meet deadlines as required while maintaining accuracy
  • Ability to start work shift at 8am ET
  • This role is hybrid, onsite 3 days per week

Responsibilities

  • Perform and/or review data entry to maintain accurate bi-weekly payroll
  • Maintain accurate audit reviews (LOA, New Hires, Terminations, Company Changes & more)
  • Payroll Settlement reconciliation
  • 401k bi-weekly submission and reconciliation
  • Provide payroll related information to internal partners and external auditors upon request
  • Assist in year-end process
  • Assist in researching payroll tax notices
  • Basic Payroll knowledge with Equity (vests, dividends etc.)
  • Contribute to the creation and improvement of payroll procedures
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude
  • Research and respond to employee inquiries that are tax related
  • Review new garnishments and levies to ensure compliance
  • Participate in payroll projects like implementations for vendor changes, workflow review etc.

What is the Global Payroll group responsible for?

The payroll department is responsible for processing Global Payroll across all countries, including reporting and paying any taxes and ancillary obligations as required. This includes but is not limited to: Salaries, Bonuses, Equity (restricted stock and other types), Commissions, Taxable Fringe Benefits, Proxy Air Fringe, Deferred Compensation Payments and deductions, ESIP, 401K and other international pension contributions etc.

What is the Payroll Analyst responsible for?

A Payroll Analyst is responsible for the efficient processing and administration of payroll data, ensuring accurate compensation of employees and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role involves maintaining payroll records, calculating employee pay, reconciling hours worked, and compiling payroll statistics. Additionally, the Payroll Analyst conducts audits of payroll data, prepares payroll-related journal entries, and interacts with business partners and third-party vendors. They also handle various payroll-related tasks such as processing new hires, tax forms, leaves, garnishments, transfers, pension plans, benefits, terminations, and other related documents.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Payroll Analyst?
