Job summary

Whatnot is seeking a detail-oriented US Workday/UKG Payroll Analyst to manage end-to-end US payroll operations. You will ensure timely processing, validate earnings, deductions, taxes, and garnishments, and drive compliance across states.

You will partner with HR and Benefits, integrate payroll data, and support audits and year-end reporting. Remote-friendly with hub offices in LA/NYC/AZ, applicants should live within commuting distance to one of these hubs.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of US payroll processing experience.
• Hands-on experience with Workday Payroll (open to UKG).
• Multi-state payroll expertise and knowledge of US tax regulations.

Responsibilities

• Process biweekly US payroll in Workday or UKG; validate earnings, deductions, taxes, and garnishments.
• Ensure compliance with IRS and state regulations; support audits and year-end reporting (W-2s).
• Troubleshoot payroll issues; partner with HR/Benefits for data integration; develop payroll reports.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and compliance-driven US Workday Payroll Analyst to manage and optimize our end-to-end payroll operations. This role will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for US employees while serving as a preferred subject matter expert in Workday Payroll with Integration with ADP.

Role

Payroll Processing

• Process biweekly US payroll in Workday or UKG
• Validate earnings, deductions, taxes, and garnishments
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Manage multi-state payroll processing and tax allocations

Compliance & Audits

• Maintain compliance with IRS and state tax regulations
• Support internal and external payroll audits
• Prepare and validate year-end reporting (W-2s)

Workday or UKG System Management

• Troubleshoot payroll errors and resolve discrepancies along with Sr Global Payroll Analyst
• Partner with HR and Benefits to ensure accurate data integration
• Develop and maintain payroll reports and calculated fields

Reconciliation & Reporting

• Analyze payroll variances
• Prepare payroll reporting as needed

Process Improvement

• Identify automation and efficiency opportunities
• Document payroll processes and controls
• Support payroll-related system enhancements or implementations

We offer flexibility to work from home or from one of our global office hubs, and we value in-person time for planning, problem-solving, and connection. Team members in this role must live within commuting distance of our LA, NYC, AZ, Seattle or SF hub.

• 5 - 7+ years of US payroll processing experience
• 3 + years of Hands-on experience with Workday Payroll (open to UKG)
• Multi-state payroll expertise
• Strong knowledge of US tax regulations and wage laws
• Experience with payroll audits and reconciliations
• Advanced Excel skills
• ADP SmartCompliance

Compensation Range: $95K - $105K
