Job summary

The Intersect Group is seeking an experienced Payroll Analyst to join a welcoming and collaborative HR team in Phoenix, AZ. This role provides hands-on payroll support with a strong focus on union reporting, payroll compliance, tax-related activities, reconciliations, and payroll analysis.

You will work with Payroll, Human Resources, Accounting, Tax, and external partners to research and resolve payroll issues, support reporting requirements, and help ensure accurate and timely payroll

Responsibilities

• Manage and review union payroll activities, including union deductions, benefits, collective bargaining agreement requirements, and related reporting.
• Prepare, review, and track union reports, certified payrolls, and remittance documentation.
• Partner with Payroll and Tax teams on quarterly and year-end tax activities, reconciliations, audits, and payroll liability research.
• Perform payroll reconciliations, variance analysis, and research on complex or irregular payroll items such as per diem, allowances, garnishments, and other adjustments.
• Support multi-state payroll activities and research state-specific payroll and overtime requirements.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end payroll close activities, including W-2 validation and audit support.
• Use Excel to analyze large payroll datasets, create reports, perform reconciliations, and identify discrepancies or trends.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM; flexible start times as early as 5:45 AM
