Administer and process multi-cycle payroll with precision, timeliness, and strict adherence to federal, state, and local compliance requirements.

Manage the full payroll lifecycle: employee/vendor setup, garnishments, benefits deductions, PTO accruals, and on-call pay.

Act as a key partner to Finance and HR, ensuring tight coordination across payroll, accounting, and people operations.

Own critical processes including month-end close, payroll reconciliations, accrual tracking, and year-end reporting (including 401(k) compliance).

Mentor and train payroll team members, offering support and guidance on complex issues and encouraging continuous improvement.

Serve as the go-to resource for internal payroll inquiries, working closely with employees, branch locations, and leadership.

Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits, tax filings, and compliance tracking.

Proactively identify and implement process improvements and internal controls that elevate the accuracy, speed, and reliability of payroll operations

What we look for

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, HR, Business Administration, or related field; at least 3 years of experience in a payroll role.

Expertise: In-depth knowledge of payroll systems (UKG preferred), tax law, and wage and hour regulations.

Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas), and skilled in payroll platforms and vendor systems.

Communication: Strong written and verbal skills with the ability to explain complex topics clearly and professionally to employees and leadership.

Problem Solving: Resourceful, solutions-oriented thinker who can resolve payroll discrepancies and ensure accuracy under tight timelines.

Leadership: Experience mentoring or training others; someone who elevates the team through collaboration and support.

Adaptability: Thrives in a high-growth, fast-moving environment where priorities shift and high standards remain constant
