Job summary

The New York Mets are seeking a Payroll Administrator to manage weekly non-union payrolls, timesheets, garnishments, and Workday maintenance in a fast-paced sports environment. This role also supports bi-weekly player and full-time payrolls while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

We value teamwork, discretion, and strong Excel/data skills to handle complex payroll tasks and reporting in our Flushing, NY office. Salary range is competitive for the market.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1-3 years of payroll processing experience.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Preparation and processing payrolls.
• Assist with running reports for union compliance and dues/benefits remittance.
• Assist with Workday maintenance, testing, and upgrades.
• Maintain and audit timecards for non-exempt employees and minor league players.
• Correspond with Equifax regarding unemployment claims and maintenance.
• Reconcile unclaimed wages for all payrolls.
• Collaborate with co-workers on projects and answer employee questions.
• Enroll, fund, and reconcile player/coach/staff debit cards for per diem.
• Track imputed income for company leased vehicles.

Job Description: Summary: The Payroll Administrator is responsible for preparing and processing weekly non-union payrolls, reviewing and ensuring accuracy of approved timesheets, and managing garnishments and other special payroll deductions. This role also assists with bi-weekly player and full-time employee payrolls, while helping to maintain payroll and time tracking within Workday database. Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Preparation and processing payrolls
• Assist with running reports for union compliance and dues/benefits remittance
• Assist with maintenance, testing, and upgrades within Workday
• Maintain and audit timecards for non-exempt employees and minor league players
• Correspond with Equifax regarding unemployment claims and maintenance
• Reconcile unclaimed wages for all payrolls
• Collaborate with co-workers on projects and answer employee questions
• Actively participate in payroll auditsMaintain appropriate payroll records in accordance with company policies and procedures
• Enroll, fund, and reconcile player/coach/staff debit cards for seasonal meal and housing per diem
• Track imputed income for employees with company leased vehicles
• File and archive documents

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 1-3 years of payroll processing experience
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Strong technical and analytical skills
• Experience with database functions and maintenance, including report creation
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
• Must have the ability to problem solve, multitask, meet hard deadlines, work independently and in a team environment, prioritize, pay attention to details, and communicate effectively
