Job summary

PAR Electrical Contractors, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to support accurate union payroll processing across multiple locations and projects. You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations while maintaining employee records and supporting reporting requirements.

The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of payroll administration or processing experience.
  • Knowledge of payroll practices, wage and hour regulations, payroll taxes, and compliance.
  • Experience processing payroll in a multi-state environment.
  • Familiarity with construction payroll, certified payroll, prevailing wage requirements, and union payroll practices is highly preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with payroll systems, timekeeping platforms, and enterprise software applications; JD Edwards is a plus.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly union payroll or other designated payroll cycles accurately and timely.
  • Review and audit employee time records, payroll data, and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Maintain payroll records, employee earnings, deductions, direct deposits, and tax information.
  • Ensure compliance with union contracts, federal, state, local labor laws, and company payroll requirements.
  • Process payroll-related employee transactions, including new hires, terminations, promotions, transfers, and pay rate changes.
  • Assist with certified payroll reporting and prevailing wage requirements, as applicable.
  • Coordinate payroll activities with Human Resources, Accounting, and Operations teams.
  • Serve as appoint of contact for employee and management inquiries regarding payroll, earnings, deductions, tax withholding, and payroll policies.
  • Support payroll tax reporting and assist with the preparation of W-2s and other required payroll filings.
  • Process wage garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, and other payroll deductions in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Generate payroll reports and analyze payroll data to support management decision making.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of employee payroll information.
  • Assist with payroll audits, compliance reviews, and internal control processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Perform other payroll and administrative duties as assigned

About This Role

PAR Electrical Contractors, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Payroll Administrator to support the accurate and timely processing of union payroll for employees across multiple locations and projects. This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations while providing exceptional service to employees and management. The Payroll Administrator will work closely with Human Resources, Operations, Accounting, and field personnel to administer payroll processes, maintain employee records, and support reporting and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality

What You'll Do
  • Process weekly union payroll or other designated payroll cycles accurately and timely in accordance with company policies and procedures.

What You'll Bring

  • Experience supporting construction, utility, engineering, or project-based organizations is preferred
