Job summary

Hiregy is seeking a Payroll Specialist for our St. Petersburg, FL client. This onsite role ensures accurate payroll processing, proper record-keeping, and timely tax payments while delivering strong client service.

The position offers a WFH option post-training on Mondays and Fridays if you have a designated workspace, with hours 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST, Monday through Friday. It is a contract-to-hire opportunity.

Qualifications

• At least three (3) years of administrative and/or accounting experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required and education verification.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll by entering hours, new hires, rehires, deductions, and other wage-related items while meeting client payroll deadlines.
• Maintain accurate electronic employee records, including new hire documentation, employee changes, and terminations.
• Troubleshoot payroll errors and resolve issues affecting payroll processing and federal, state, and local tax payments.
• Communicate payroll totals and funding requirements to clients while providing responsive customer service and escalating complex issues as needed.
• Assist clients with payroll system setup, payroll processing, website functionality, standard reporting, and custom report needs.
