Job summary

The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City is seeking a Payments Research Associate (RA) in the Economic Research Department. You will work with PhD economists on policy briefings, research projects, and empirical analysis of payments systems and related topics.

You will analyze large transaction-level and survey data, develop charts, and contribute to econometric or theoretical research and Bank publications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in economics or closely related field such as statistics, mathematics, or computer science.
• Coursework or experience in econometrics, mathematics, statistics, and computer science is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in programming languages and statistical software such as Stata, R, Python, or Matlab is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Work with PhD economists on policy briefings and academic research projects.
• Analyze data and create charts from large transaction-level datasets and national surveys.
• Participate in econometric or theoretical research, write for Bank publications, and deliver speeches.
