Job summary

Stripe is seeking a Technical Operations professional in our Payments group to own domain areas of the payments stack and drive automated solutions for scaling money movement across countries and currencies.

You will collaborate with engineering, accounting, and financial partnerships teams to ensure reliable data flows, solve complex issues, and deliver improvements that reduce manual work while handling billions of dollars in transactions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a technical role (e.g., Technical Operations, Software Engineer)
• Experience managing communications and workflows across diverse internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to write high quality code with general coding skill prioritized over a specific language
• Comfort using SQL to navigate data and diagnose issues
• Familiarity with developer tools (e.g., Git) and making scoped code changes

Responsibilities

• Become a domain expert in an area of the company’s payments stack
• Find automated solutions and implement tool updates to drive operational efficiencies
• Engage with the company's financial partners to drive alignment on product usage, troubleshoot and solve technical problems or breakages
• Organize and direct complex technical changes and projects between the company and our partners
• Identify and automate inefficient or unnecessary manual processes through code changes, partner agreements, or making and coordinating more complex code changes across the company
• Design future anomaly detection systems and tools to ensure that data flowing through our partner and internal systems is reliable and correct
• Collaborate across the company, including engineering, accounting, financial partnerships and product, to trace and account for billions of dollars moving through the the company platform
• Handle inquiries from internal Stripes and external partners' technical teams, often requiring detailed investigation and sometimes code changes
