Xero is seeking a Lead Engineer for the Payments Platform to join early-stage initiatives and shape architecture for money movement across products and markets. You will stay hands-on, influence technical direction, and drive reliability and security while aligning teams on the roadmap for core capabilities.

The role offers a hybrid model with offices in Vancouver or San Mateo and opportunities to impact global payment products.

Formación

• Proven track record delivering highly available distributed backend systems.
• Experience turning early ideas into production platforms.
• Deep understanding of system architecture, APIs and databases.
• Proficiency in C#, Java, Go or C++ and AWS.
• Strong technical leadership and mentoring engineers.
• Hands-on production code and AI-assisted workflows.

Responsabilidades

• Lead architecture and API design for the payments platform.
• Drive reliability, security and operational excellence across services.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable solutions.
