Job summary

A leading healthcare facility in Oklahoma is seeking a Payment Variance Specialist I to manage and resolve payment discrepancies in hospital billing. Candidates should have at least one year of experience in Revenue Cycle, preferably with Epic. You will assist in handling overpayments, maintain accurate billing records, and collaborate with teams for timely resolutions. This role emphasizes the importance of patient care and teamwork, ensuring quality service while leading the future of cardiac care.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of job-related experience in Revenue Cycle required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge of insurance reimbursement methodology and payer contracts.
  • Proficient with a PC and Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
  • Knowledge of insurance reimbursement methodologies, payer contracts, and Medicare credit balance reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with overpayments and credit balances including patient and insurance refunds.
  • Research and pursue verified underpayments by insurance companies.

Responsibilities

The OHH Payment Variance Specialist I is responsible for triaging and resolving all payment variances for hospital and professional billing. Assists with overpayments and credit balances, to include patient & insurance refunds, in accordance with department standards and policies. Identifies and corrects variances caused by posting or contract errors, conducting root cause analysis and leading efforts to fix trends at the source. Researches and pursues verified underpayments by insurance companies, drafting appeals as needed to obtain payment in full. Collaborates with domestic and global team to ensure accurate and timely resolution to all variances. Performs all work in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Oklahoma Heart Hospital.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma required.

Experience: One (1) year job related experience in Revenue Cycle required, with emphasis on Cash Posting, Refunds & Credit Balances, or Insurance Follow-Up/Denials. Epic experience strongly preferred.

Working Knowledge: Must be proficient on a personal computer and have experience with Microsoft Office including Excel and Word. Must have working knowledge of various insurance reimbursement methodology and payer contracts. Must be savvy with government payer regulations, to include Medicare credit balance reporting.
