Job description

Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President - Payment Solutions, this position is responsible for managing activities related to delinquent accounts. The role requires extensive knowledge of collection and bankruptcy laws, as well as familiarity with consumer and mortgage loan documents.

Essential Functions
  1. Collection of delinquent accounts:
    1. Review accounts to determine causes of delinquency.
    2. Make arrangements with members to resolve delinquencies and follow up as needed.
    3. Post payments received to delinquent accounts.
    4. Process consumer credit counseling requests and monitor accounts to ensure timely payments.
    5. Evaluate loan extension requests, prepare documentation, and adjust accounts accordingly.
    6. Recommend loan rewrites or legal action for delinquent accounts.
  2. Bankruptcy:
    1. Notify legal collections of members who have filed bankruptcy.
  3. Support internal and branch staff:
    1. Provide guidance on Payment Solutions operations.
    2. Assist with background information, restrictions, overrides, and member disputes.
  4. Related duties:
    1. Maintain accurate documentation on member accounts.
    2. Assist other departments with collections.
    3. Perform other duties as assigned.
  5. Ensure compliance with BSA, OFAC, and USA Patriot Act/CIP regulations.

Note: Non-compliance may lead to disciplinary action, including termination, civil, and criminal penalties.

  1. Perform other duties as assigned, which may include working in different roles based on business needs.
Job Specifications
  1. High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary business coursework preferred.
  2. At least two years' experience in collections, preferably in a retail financial institution.
  3. Ability to attain a Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) number.
  4. Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor.
  5. Knowledge of consumer collections regulations (e.g., Wisconsin consumer act, TCPA, FCRA, FACTA).
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  7. Strong mathematical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  8. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
