Responsibilities

• Post payments, discounts and adjustments to patient accounts accurately and in a timely manner.
• Enter coordination of benefits data for secondary claim processing.
• Verify batch totals, edits, reconcile and update payment batches.
• Interpret denials and post proper denial codes.
• Escalate atypical remittances to Manager, Cash Applications for review.
• Reconcile bank accounts and ensure receipt batches balance to deposits.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The pay range for this position is $18.25 - $26.88 based on direct and relevant experience.

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Payment Application Specialist to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a Payment Application Specialist, you will ensures accurate and timely posting of payments, discounts and adjustments. This is a remote full-time position, working 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:

(75%) Payment Support

• Obtains the necessary documentation required to post receipts, denials and correspondence
• Ensures that receipts, discounts and adjustments are accurately posted to patient accounts in a timely manner to meet department goals on a daily and monthly basis
• Enters coordination of benefits data accurately for secondary claim processing
• Verifies batch totals, edits, reconciles and updates payment batches
• Interprets denials and correspondence for proper denial code posting in the billing system
• Identifies missing remittances and takes the necessary steps to obtain the appropriate documentation required to post receipts, discounts and adjustments
• Escalates atypical remittances, CMS and Managed Care Payer notifications to Manager, Cash Applications for review

(15%) End of Month Support

• Reconciles each bank account to ensure all receipts are posted prior to closing the month
• Ensures all receipt batches balance and tie to bank deposits

(10%) Performs other duties as assigned
