Job summary

SpaceX in Redmond is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for Satellite Payload within Starlink to own hardware from ideation through high-volume production and on-orbit operation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams on phased array antennas, gimballing, actuators, and related mechanisms.

The role requires a strong background in mechanical/electromechanical design, CAD/FEA proficiency, and a track record of delivering complex space-grade hardware on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• Experience with CAD and FEA software.
• 1+ years in mechanical/electromechanical design, analysis, testing, or manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Own hardware from conceptual design through high volume production and on-orbit operation.
• Develop design criteria and drive system-level optimization.
• Iterate designs and analyses to inform trades and product direction.
• Drive DFM for elegant designs with reduced parts and robust fabrication.
• Establish efficient product lifecycle from supply chain to final integration.
• Perform environmental and performance tests to validate design criteria.
• Own delivery timeline from conception to launch.
• Demonstrate ownership of product outcomes at all stages.
