Job summary

Metric Geo is seeking an experienced Payroll & HRIS professional to manage bi-weekly payroll, verify inputs, and maintain accurate HR data across systems. You will prepare reports for leadership and collaborate with Accounting to ensure regulatory compliance and audit readiness.

The role requires 5+ years in payroll/HR analytics, strong Excel skills, and UKG experience is a plus. This on-site position supports benefits administration and regulatory reporting in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in payroll, HRIS, benefits, HR analytics, or related HR/finance function.
  • Strong hands-on experience with full-cycle payroll processing.
  • Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Advanced Excel capabilities, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
  • Experience working with HRIS and payroll platforms; UKG experience is a plus.
  • Background in payroll reporting, reconciliations, audits, or compliance strongly preferred.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and review bi-weekly payroll to ensure accurate employee pay, deductions, and payroll records.
  • Verify payroll inputs including timekeeping, PTO, benefits, compensation updates, and employee changes.
  • Ensure payroll practices align with applicable federal, state, and company regulations.
  • Maintain accurate employee, payroll, HRIS, compensation, and benefits information.
  • Prepare payroll, headcount, census, compensation, benefits, and other HR reports for leadership, HR, and Accounting.
  • Serve as the primary owner of HRIS data accuracy, payroll configurations, benefit deductions, and reporting.
  • Build and maintain spreadsheets, trackers, and reporting tools to support HR and payroll functions.
  • Review data for discrepancies, trends, and potential issues and provide analysis when needed.
  • Handle employment verification requests, unemployment claims, final pay, payroll adjustments, and other special transactions.
  • Support payroll and HR-related audits and respond to employee and manager questions regarding payroll, benefits, and HR systems.
  • Coordinate required annual and periodic filings, including ACA/1095, 5500, EEO-1, workers’ compensation, unemployment, and other applicable reports.
  • Support benefits census reporting and 401(k) submissions.
  • Administer and track employee leave programs, including FMLA and other protected leave, while ensuring required documentation is maintained.
  • Act as the primary HR resource for payroll, benefits, HRIS, and leave-related compliance.
  • Maintain records and documentation needed for internal and external audits.
  • Ensure employee data and HR processes remain compliant with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Maintain information needed for ACA eligibility and measurement tracking.
  • Partner with the CHRO on HR, compliance, reporting, and process initiatives.
  • Maintain day-to-day benefits administration, including enrollments, employee changes, reporting, billing, and renewals.
  • Lead the annual open enrollment process, including planning, employee communications, system updates, and reporting.
  • Coordinate benefits meetings, health fairs, and other employee benefits initiatives with the broker.
  • Maintain the HRIS, preferably UKG, including employee records, payroll information, reporting, and system integrity.
  • Create HRIS reports and data exports for HR, Accounting, and leadership.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and work with HRIS support when needed.
  • Ensure information remains consistent and accurate across HRIS, payroll, and benefits systems.
  • Review payroll and benefits invoices for accuracy.
  • Assist with reconciliations, journal entries, and related reporting.
  • Maintain tracking tools for compensation, benefits, payroll, and employee data.
  • Partner with the CHRO on complex payroll, compliance, leave, and employee data matters.
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and compensation information.
  • Work closely with the HR Coordinator to ensure accurate onboarding, employee updates, payroll, benefits, and reporting.
  • Support HR projects, process improvements, and other initiatives as needed.
  • Contribute to a culture centered around accountability, collaboration, excellence, respect, innovation, and community.
